Jane Levings
I work with young adults who are using alcohol and other substances to cope. Many of my clients are able to reduce their use through weekly counseling with me in combination with group therapy. For clients who need a higher level of care, I can help them identify the appropriate outpatient detox, residential detox, residential treatment or day program.
I also work with young adults struggling with mood disorders or who feel stuck and who want to launch richer, more purposeful lives. Many of my clients are dealing with problems related to anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, or the difficult transition to adulthood. My clients learn skills to cope with big emotions in the moment, while also working to understand their core values, so that they can create a concrete action plan that aligns with who they really are.
Prior to becoming a counselor, I taught creative writing. I use narrative therapy and creative writing prompts in my practice for clients who are interested.
I have experience working with clients who are struggling with alcohol abuse and addiction. I work with clients curious about reducing their alcohol consumption and with newly sober clients who want support in their recovery.
Christian worldview informs my practice, as I walk beside my clients in their understanding of who they are and who they want to become.
