Our counseling practice sees life's challenges as opportunities to understand ourselves more fully. Our therapeutic process is collaborative; we will honor your journey with non-judgment, confidentiality, and respect. You have likely found yourself in search of a therapist because something in your life is asking to be explored and shifted. You may be searching for a way to handle life stressors with more mastery, heal from past wounds, create stronger and more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others, or for help dealing with difficult life changes. Sometimes we need some support navigating the rough waters of life. When we are "in the thick of it" we must learn that we are not broken, and therapy is not about "fixing", but rather about developing self-awareness, inner kindness, and more emotional and behavioral options for responding to life's ups and downs. Painful emotions like depression, anxiety, and shame can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and hopeless. Therapy can help guide you in releasing your pain and so that you can start living with more peace and ease.
I believe people have the inherent capacity to heal and grow. To support this change, I provide a nonjudgmental, warm, and collaborative therapeutic space. I will work with you to tap into your strengths, gain insight into behaviors that might currently feel stuck or confusing, and learn skills to empower you to effectively deal with stress and emotional ups and downs. My approach is tailored to your specific goals and circumstances, and typically includes a mixture of traditional “talk” therapy with mindfulness, somatic, and trauma-informed practices. I am committed to an anti-oppressive, inclusive approach that welcomes all experiences. I am licensed to provide telehealth in NY, GA, and FL. I also provide in-person sessions in GA.
I currently have availability Wednesdays ( virtual only 10am-2pm or 4pm-7pm), Thursdays and Fridays 10am-2pm in person or virtually, and weekends 12pm-4pm in person or virtually. My mission is to help clients that struggle with boundaries in their relationships, people pleasing, and feeling inadequate. I can help with the repeating negative thoughts that leave you feeling trapped. I can help you to also build an identity outside of a life lived with chronic illness. Do you have thoughts related to being broken or a failure? I understand that intense feelings of sadness, shame, anger or guilt feels heavy. Pain on your heart can leave you feeling hopeless, exhausted, worthless, anxious and frustrated. I know you want a way out of pain. I utilize CBT, DBT, IFS and EMDR. Skills can be important in navigating hardships. I have training in CBT, DBT and EMDR. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have a passion for utilizing skills to help clients manage/reduce symptoms of depression/anxiety. I believe in showing up as authentically as possible with my whole vivacious personality to build warm connections. I am tough and gentle. I accept you as you are and I push for change to bring you closer to your goal.
Revelare Recovery is a Women’s PHP & IOP program designed to address co-occurring diagnoses of an Eating Disorder (ED) alongside a secondary Substance Use Disorder (SUD) or Mental Health diagnosis. It operates at the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) levels of care. One important aspect of this program is that it provides supportive housing for clients who reside outside of the Atlanta market. This housing arrangement ensures that clients have a safe and structured environment during their treatment period. Our supportive housing program consists of two phases: Phase 1, which lasts for 30 days and is conducted primarily in the PHP setting, and Phase 2, which lasts an additional 30 days and takes place primarily in the IOP setting. The program specifcally caters to women, recognizing their unique needs in the context of EDs and co-occurring disorders. By focusing exclusively on women, the program can tailor its treatment approaches to address the specific challenges and experiences that women may face.

Trauma and pain from past and present experiences can stop you in your tracks, leaving you stuck in the same patterns, of thinking, feeling and behaving that eventually lead to building a life of obligation, duty and fear rather than one of fulfillment, meaning and connection. But with a little help, you can pause, learn tools, gain insights and figure out where and how you need to change direction. You are not responsible for everything that has happened to you AND you are responsible for making meaning from the life you are living. How you do this depends on whom you believe yourself to be. Our work will help you to heal YOU. I understand the connection between empowerment and recovery and believe our choices can change our lives. My work includes: trauma survivors, PTSD, depression, anxiety, serious mental illness, substance use and general/social stressors. My clients include : therapists, all genders, LGBTQ, veterans, African Americans, and diverse races/ethnicities. I have nearly 10 years of practice experience, using multiple approaches to help move you from where you are to where you would like to be. I look forward to our work together.

Hi there! I am a licensed psychologist in Midtown Atlanta. I enjoy helping with anxiety concerns, men's issues/masculinity, relationship and social concerns, and depression, as well as a number of other concerns. I also have extensive experience working with undergraduate and graduate college students. I integrate different approaches, but work mainly using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and relational/interpersonal techniques. Additionally, I specialize in mindfulness-based and self-compassion approaches and the use of mindfulness meditation. My aim in therapy is to create a space of warmth, openness, and support so that we can lean into the difficult areas of your life, work to understand the ways you could grow, and begin to address them. I work actively to help my clients open up to their thoughts and emotions while also helping identify changes they can make to live life more effectively. I am patient, relatable, and flexible in my work, and you'll find that I am a humorous and light-hearted person, too. I also aim to be direct and authentic, giving helpful feedback when appropriate. Check out my website to get a better sense for my practice and the way I work with folks! If you are interested in working with me, please don't hesitate to reach out by phone or email, and we can set up a time for a brief initial consultation.
As a Somatic Therapist and Intuitive Eating Counselor, I blend talk therapy with body-based techniques to help people rediscover their innate wisdom and hunger for life. Instead of getting caught in a spiral of prescriptive “shoulds” as related to eating, exercise, perfectionism, anxiety or depression, my holistic approach allows you to slowly become more aware of your unique bodily rhythms, relational needs, gut instincts and deeper hungers from the inside-out. I love helping people reconnect with their body-mind-spirit from a trauma-informed, depth-oriented, expressive arts, and all-bodies-welcome approach. With a great appreciation for the body’s wisdom, early developmental imprinting and expanding one’s intuition, I draw upon nervous system science, attachment theory and trauma-informed somatic therapy to help clients feel supported and empowered in their bodies and lives. Sometimes we talk, sometimes we move and make art, sometimes we explore developmental shapes or movement patterns, and sometimes we do all three. You set the pace.

Whether you hope to address a specific issue or just want to improve the quality of your life, you're in the right place. My approach is gentle, yet firm, compassionate, and laid-back. I provide individual therapy to young adults and adults experiencing a range of concerns including substance use, trauma, life transitions, and the unique stressors men face. I approach counseling from the perspective that you already have strengths and abilities that you can use to become your strongest self. Together, we find those strengths and put them to work towards your goals. As part of this I often use Cognitive Behavioral therapy, a technique that looks at the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. It’s been shown to be incredibly effective at helping people make lasting changes in their lives. I am a Master Addiction Counselor and trained in E.M.D.R., a technique shown to be effective in treating trauma. It is also common that you may not have your finger on exactly what you hope to work on, yet you know you are seeking growth and change. If that’s the case, therapy can be a powerful tool to help you clarify what you want and how to best get it. If you are interested in learning more about how working together can help you reach your goals, contact me for a free consultation. Consultations are done by phone, take about 15 minutes and give us a chance to see if we would be a good fit to work together.

As a licensed clinical psychologist, Gershom Lazarus draws from a background in physiology, neuropsychology, and clinical psychology to provide an integrated approach to assessment and treatment. He currently practices as a partner of IPD, an institute established over 40 years with offices in Georgia and Florida. Dr. Lazarus initially came to the United States as an international student and can relate to some of the seemingly unrelenting challenges facing students currently. The primary approach to providing care is rooted in developing an understanding of contributing factors at the physiological, neurological/neuropsychological, and psychological levels within the context of an individual’s behavioral and societal functioning. Each session aims to focus on understanding and psycho-education regarding the presenting issues, exercises for between sessions designed to practice strategies developed in-session, and ultimately “real-world” applications targeting areas of concern. While the initial focus tends to be managing the main areas of concern, the importance of growth and meaning are gradually introduced.
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and therapist providing individual psychotherapy for adults and adolescents in Atlanta, GA. My specialties include LGBTQIA+ mental health, trauma treatment, relationship growth and challenges, and life transitions. I also enjoy working with challenges related to spirituality, self-love, body image, dating and breakups, difficult mother/daughter relationships, and cultivating a sense of purpose and meaning.
I think it can be normal to find therapy awkward, uncomfortable, or anxiety provoking, especially at first, and so it is really important to me to help create a space that can be tailored to support you as much as possible. I collaborate with you to uncover what you value, the person you would like to move towards being, and together we create a path that helps you move in the direction you would like to go. I use an integrative, client-led and trauma-informed approach that blends complementary therapeutic modalities to hold space for both your mind and body in sessions. The heart of which is a desire to understand you, to invite in curiosity, and to help support you in embodying your potential. Empathy and compassion play a big role in this as well as a little laughter. I will also lean into activation, discomfort, and challenging you at times. This is done with the explicit understanding this is your place to let me know when it is too much, when it is a “no”, or when I’ve mis-attuned. I use a feedback-informed approach to learn how to better support you. Feel free to visit my website to learn more about my specialties and the therapeutic approaches I use. I'm happy to answer any questions. I look forward to connecting!
I was a high school teacher and coach for 14 years before becoming a counselor so I work well with students and young people. Many feel pressure to make their time at college "the best time of their lives" but the reality is many find this time of transition difficult and frustrating. Asking for help during difficult moments shows strength and maturity. You don't need to handle these things on your own. We can partner together to find solutions to situations and circumstances that feel overwhelming or confusing. Give me a call and we'll get started.
