With a warm and empathetic approach, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their inner worlds and cultivate meaningful connections with themselves and others. My therapeutic toolkit is enriched by specialized training in IFS, EMDR, and EFT. Together, these modalities enable me to offer a comprehensive and tailored approach to each client's unique needs. As a therapist, I work with depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and significant life transitions. Having particular insight into dysfunctional family systems, I offer compassionate support for those navigating complex family-of-origin experiences. At the heart of my practice is the belief that everyone possesses the capacity to heal and grow. I create a therapeutic environment characterized by compassion and curiosity, providing a safe space for clients to explore experiences, discover strengths, and move toward meaningful change. I specialize in working with clients who want to heal from the experience of growing up in addicted or dysfunctional family systems. By examining childhood trauma and generational patterns, we will work to foster the emotional growth, improved relationships, and freedom from codependency that emerge when we rediscover our authentic selves and live in alignment with our personal integrity. I also worked in student affairs/higher education administration for 13 years and have extensive experience supporting young adults through the various challenges of adjusting to, navigating, and transitioning to life after college and graduate school.
I enjoy helping people grow better relationships, knowledge of themselves, and ability to navigate uncomfortable moods and situations. If you are finding yourself stumbling along unsure of how to address the problems you are having I can help. I am experienced in working with anxiety, depression, grief and adjustment to change.
I believe in empowering clients to make the best choices for them. It often feels like we are along for the ride without realizing the opportunities to create change in our lives. I understand that therapy can be a difficult and sometimes uncomfortable process. In session, you are in the driver’s seat, and I am your navigator. Ultimately, you are in control of getting to your destination. Together, we can discover the where and how. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia Southern University. I have assisted young adults transitioning to adulthood in private practice and college counseling settings. I use person-centered, solution-focused, empowerment, and mindfulness-based interventions with clients. I am passionate about working with individuals who want to improve any areas of their life. Increasing self-awareness is often the first step to noticing our patterns. I understand that all clients are unique, which is why I tailor my approach to best suit you. Let's discover your skills and goals together.
College is a time of immense growth, but it can also feel like you're expected to have everything figured out. The pressure to choose the right major, land the right internship, and map out your entire future can feel suffocating. I know this firsthand - I changed careers a few times before finding my path in counseling. I understand what it's like to sit with the uncertainty of wondering whether you're on the right track and feeling like you're falling behind while everyone else seems to have it together. Whether you're adjusting to a new campus, navigating the independence of college life, or struggling with anxiety and depression, I provide a space to unpack those pressures and reconnect with what actually matters to you. I also enjoy working with student-athletes. Balancing the demands of academics and athletics comes with a unique set of pressures. When so much of your identity is tied to performance, it can be difficult to know who you are outside of your sport. There are a lot of challenges involved such as adjusting to a new team environment, managing the weight of expectations from coaches and peers, or facing burnout and the emotional toll of competition. Together, we can work to build resilience that extends beyond the field or court and help you develop a stronger sense of self that isn't solely defined by your achievements. In therapy, I offer a warm, collaborative approach where healing happens through genuine connection. I believe people suffer most when they are living out of alignment with their own values and desires rather than the expectations placed on them by society, family, coaches, or culture. Part of our work together is identifying those messages and exploring which ones are truly yours.
Hello everyone! My name is Phyllis Williams. I am an Associate Professional Counselor licensed in the state of Georgia and New York. I am also the proud owner of Tuyee Holistic Services LLC. A little bit on my educational background. I obtained my Masters in Science degree from CUNY-Hunter College School of Education with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling, in addition to my Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology. A little bit on my theoretical approach. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy by applying a combination of therapeutic strategies to fit the individualized needs of my clients. I specialize in the use of, but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Psychodynamic Theory with a Solution Focused & Person-Centered Approach. I specialize in anxiety, depression, personality disorders, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, grief, trauma, post-natal trauma, relationship conflict & familial conflict, etc. I have experience providing individual counseling (child & adult), group counseling, couples therapy & family counseling in outpatient, inpatient & community based settings. I have worked in various fields of mental health namely applied behavioral analysis, developmental disabilities, OPWDD, DBHDD, case management, community intervention, crisis intervention, evidenced based practice & private practice. Healing does not have to look magical or pretty. Real healing is hard, exhausting and draining. The best part about being in therapy is that you do not have to do it alone. The work begins when you leave my office. With my support, I strive for my clients to independently utilize healthy coping skills learned in sessions to apply upon daily interaction with others & themselves. I aim to provide effective treatment to clients while exploring the underlying causes of each client’s mental health concerns. With a modern holistic approach to therapy over time, we can break the mental health stigma in our society.
I welcome clients 20+ with life issues including anxiety, life transitions, self-compassion practice, family/relationship/boundary issues, self-esteem, stress of parenthood. If you feel burnt out, like you are doing too much, and that saying "no" feels overwhelming to consider, I might be a good fit for you. In addition to psychotherapy, I received training in Mindfulness and Meditation which helps with anxiety, emotional awareness, and self-compassion. I also use DBT skills training because I find that some behavioral work can be useful depending on each client's therapeutic process. I look forward to joining you in your journey when you are ready.

I work with individuals who may be successful in many areas of life but still struggle to understand and manage their emotions, especially as they navigate difficult life transitions or deal with symptoms of depression and anxiety. In our work together, we will explore how you relate to others and how you may relate to the world, as well as examine underlying thought patterns and how those might influence your emotions and your behaviors. I also offer comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for concussion / traumatic brain injury, attentional disorders, and other neurological conditions.
I view the soul as your mind, will, and emotions—the essence of who you are. Trauma can leave wounds that shape your view of yourself and the world, leaving fractures in your soul. Healing to me is not about ‘fixing,’ but about meeting yourself with compassion, understanding the protective patterns that once kept you safe, and reconnecting with the authentic self beneath them. I believe that every person carries an innate capacity for healing, even when pain and shame feel overwhelming. I trust that our wounds, when met with love and grace, can become openings to deeper wisdom, resilience, and growth. I also believe that healing is not a linear path—it unfolds gently, at your own pace, when safety and compassion are present. My work is rooted in the belief that wholeness is possible. "Grace softens the pain, love holds the wound, and compassion leads the healing.” The approaches I use are grounded in years of experience walking alongside survivors of trauma. Together, we’ll work with tools that go beyond surface-level coping and actually reach the root of what’s happening in your body and brain. Through Brainspotting, we can access and release the deep, unprocessed experiences that often drive anxiety and overwhelm. With trauma-informed DBT skills, you’ll learn practical ways to manage emotions, reduce shame, and build resilience. Using somatic approaches, we’ll gently reconnect with your body’s wisdom so that you feel more grounded and safe in your own skin. All of this work is held within a compassion-centered framework—because healing isn’t about fixing what’s ‘broken,’ it’s about meeting yourself with kindness and learning to trust your own inner strength. My goal is for you to leave therapy with tools you can carry with you anywhere—simple, effective practices that help calm your body, quiet your mind, and create space for peace.

Thanks for being here, I'm Liz. I'm a recent graduate of the University of Georgia's Master of Social Work program working as a therapist in Decatur. I'm generally laid-back, welcoming, direct, and use the occasional swear word, but only if that works for you. I work diligently to create a space that is warm, validating, and also challenging when appropriate. My experience is primarily with LGBQIA+, transgender, and gender-expansive clients, and my approach is supportive, affirming, and integrates advocacy and power analysis. I see adults for individual therapy navigating the following: life transitions and/or identity development boundaries and/or stress religious or spiritual trauma I believe clients are the experts of their own experiences and that a positive, collaborative therapeutic alliance is deeply important. My approach to therapy is grounded in those beliefs, and I work diligently to create a space where clients feel brave, heard, and empowered. I believe therapy should be holistic, pulling from systems theory, strengths-based, and person-centered approaches. I operate from a harm reduction framework and utilize motivational interviewing. I’m currently a licensed social worker (LMSW) under the supervision of Mick Rehrig, LCSW and the direction of Ryan DeVane, LCSW.
I appreciate that reaching out for help is not always easy. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe in expressing your feelings and fears, hopes and desires; and to help you obtain a sense of control over your life. Changes can result in unexpected and often unwelcome transitions that can provoke anxiety. This can impact relationship difficulties and other aspects of life. With a gentle and sensitive approach, I help you to feel supported and skillfully guided to manage and reduce anxiety, access hidden strengths and potential and develop new skills for living a more balanced and possibly joyous life.
I help students navigate the pressures of achievement, self-doubt, and life transitions - whether related to academics, relationships, health, or identity. I am now in private practice, but love supporting young adults and college students! My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in both compassion and practical strategies, helping you understand your patterns, build confidence, and create a life that feels both meaningful and sustainable. I offer both in-person (Smyrna, GA) and telehealth therapy services. Contact me for a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are good fit to work together! If you are new to therapy or if you've met with a therapist before, I commend you for recognizing your need for supporting yourself right now. If you are experiencing problems related to drugs and alcohol, anxiety, depression, anger, or stress management, I feel confident that I can help you to deal with these issues effectively. I take a mindfulness-based approach in working with clients, which incorporates a main focus of learning to accept and be with whatever is happening in the present moment. This can help create clarity and present a reasonable solution to challenges. If you are interested in working with me, please reach out to me at anytime.
