Hello! My name is Kristina Serena, owner of Serena Counseling and Empowerment Resources. I work with women to identify and conquer fears, obsessions, or unhealthy patterns of living that have resulted in feeling powerless! SERVICES: TELE-HEALTH (ONLINE THERAPY) You may be experiencing the grip of anxiety, depression, mood disturbances, addiction, trauma, self-esteem/self-worth, body-image, disordered eating or ADHD Through exploration of your story you will learn to embrace self love and start to heal You will learn to tap into parts of yourself that are experiencing a flood of different emotions You will learn to establish healthy boundaries towards yourself and others to protect your energy You will learn Somatic techniques to address symptoms you are experiencing including grounding, breathwork, body awareness and body scanning Together we will explore through a holistic approach how to create a more balanced life IDENTIFYING AREAS OF FOCUS/PATTERNS OF BEHAVIOR Over and over again I see women clutch to a certain set of rules surrounding their body, food, substances, parenting, friendships and the list goes on. This can be seen in many forms; excessive preoccupation, holding on the “idea” of perfectionism or distortion of reality. These patterns of thinking can leave you feeling stuck, on autopilot or frozen. It can be incredibly liberating to identify these patterns in a place of non-judgement HOLSTIC APPROACH: Learning to connect with your body and mind and listening to your needs is part of the holistic healing process Healing can have great impact on our emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. Together we can identify barriers to growth and foster change to live as your authentic self. There is no standard normal. Sometimes we have to dig deep and sometimes it's surface reflection. Each of us has a story and your story is powerful. We are a team of clinical social workers specializing in yoga/mindfulness, EMDR, and CBT. Our understanding is that in order to truly heal, we must honor our whole-body and mind working together. Many of our clients find that much of their suffering is stored throughout their bodies as anxiety, depression, and stress begin to take over. We support students as they navigate the unfamiliar and sometime daunting transition into adulthood and offer a warm, hopeful guide towards joy and purpose. Our virtual counseling services are available to individuals located in Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Vermont, Maine, Illinois, and California. We welcome you to get to know us, the services we offer, and reach out to schedule session.

I am a master’s-level clinician supporting adults across the lifespan navigating a variety of life challenges, including anxiety, depression, identity exploration, self-criticism, and relationship concerns. I work with adults who often feel stuck, uncertain, or challenged by life circumstances, guiding them to explore their experiences, recognize patterns, and move towards a more meaningful and authentic life. My work is grounded in mindfulness, values, and identity. I primarily draw from ACT and existential therapy and integrate elements of EFT, narrative and psychodynamic therapy, and positive psychology. We examine patterns with curiosity and compassion, while developing practical skills and strategies to better navigate thoughts, emotions, and relationships. I aim to create a collaborative and supportive space where therapy is centered on your experiences and what matters most to you. Together, we explore new perspectives, deepen self-awareness, and experiment with approaches that help you navigate challenges with curiosity, intention, and a greater sense of purpose.

I’m a clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals through some of life’s most challenging moments. I earned my undergraduate degree from Quinnipiac University and went on to complete my Master of Social Work at Boston University School of Social Work in 2015. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients navigating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use. I came into this field because I genuinely value the process of helping people better understand themselves and create meaningful change in their lives. I know that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, and I don’t take for granted the trust it takes to share your story with someone new. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, respected, and truly heard—without judgment. My approach to therapy is pragmatic, individualized, and grounded in your unique strengths. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, I work collaboratively with each client to understand what’s most important to them and to develop tools and strategies that feel realistic and useful in everyday life. Whether we’re working through patterns of anxiety, processing past trauma, or addressing substance use, I aim to balance insight with practical steps forward.

*Our practice is now accepting new students for individual counseling* Much of our suffering is stored throughout our body, leaving us with a racing mind and feelings of stress, anxiety, depression. By approaching healing through a lens that incorporates the whole-body, we will work together so that you can heal fully and sustainably. I specialize in working with individuals faced with persistent anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Many of these symptoms will manifest in relationship issues, difficulty sleeping, or poor motivation. Together we will explore the root causes that perpetuate your suffering and develop strategies so that you can lead a more fulfilling and joyful life. I am a clinical social worker, yoga & mindfulness teacher. I blend my degree as a clinician along with training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Yoga Therapy to offer an integrative approach to treatment. I believe that in order to truly heal, we must honor our whole-body and mind working together. My mission is to uncover the most effective paths for guiding others in reducing suffering and increasing a sense of joy and fulfillment in everyday life. Professionally and personally, I have gathered experience, evidence, and strategies for enhancing life and uncovering “what it’s all about”. I wish to share this with you.

Hi. I am a clinical social worker/therapist who has been working in the mental health field for over 25 years. Throughout this time, I have worked in a variety of settings with children, teens, young adults, parents and families. I have specialized in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, including but not limited to sexual abuse, sexual assault, childhood neglect, physical abuse, partner abuse, and traumatic grief and loss. In addition to my trauma focused work, I really enjoy working with college-aged students and the many wonders and struggles that come along with this time and age. I work with students who are experiencing a range of issues from anxiety, depression, questioning identity, family conflict, difficulty with the adjustment to school, social struggles and/or in need of future and career guidance. I am trained in a variety of techniques and pull from each of them to provide an individualized approach that is collaborative as well as strength based for each client. I look forward to connecting and discussing whether we would be a good fit for working together. Please note that at this time, I primarily have day time appointments available and offer sessions via telehealth.

One of the great promises of therapy is that even when we don’t know exactly what we need or know how to feel better, if we lean in with curiosity and compassion- and stay committed- we can learn to turn toward ourselves and each other with empathy, begin to build healthier relationships, and ride waves of emotions like a pro surfer. I believe we all have the capacity to grow and reach greater levels of understanding along happiness in life. I think the best way to get there is through a meaningful connection that is created in a safe environment where we can express our authentic needs. I often support clients with experiences like stress, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, bipolar, ADHD, and autism. I have been trained in various clinical techniques in Europe, including schema therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. My approach is integrative and tailored to your unique goals and needs. Growing up outside the US, I also bring a cross-cultural perspective that deepens my understanding of the challenges people from diverse backgrounds might face. I empower my clients to gain insights into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so that they can make meaningful changes in their lives. Reach out if you're curious about working together!

You might seem like you’re holding it all together, but inside feel overwhelmed or disconnected. Many high-achieving students carry the weight of expectations from family, culture, and society. That pressure can leave you exhausted, unsure of yourself, and out of touch with your own needs. I create space for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, and other historically marginalized students to slow down and be known, accepted, and supported as their full selves. I help students work through identity questions, relationship concerns, stress, burnout, imposter feelings, and the impact of trauma. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. You’ll have space to explore the deeper roots of what you're carrying while also building real-world tools to feel more grounded, empowered, and connected. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Working with me means having a steady, supportive space where you can be real, ask hard questions, and grow at your own pace. We’ll focus on what matters most to you while exploring who you are and what you need to feel more whole. I offer virtual sessions for students anywhere in Massachusetts and would be honored to support you as you move through this next chapter. I provide therapy through Intersect Clinical Services, a preferred provider for Boston-area students. We accept UHC StudentResources and Aetna Student Health with minimal or no out-of-pocket costs.

If you’re trying to navigate stress, identity, relationships, or just the pressure of figuring life out, you don’t have to do it alone. I have nearly 15 years of experience working specifically with young adults, and I aim to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or just unsure of what you need, we can take the time to sort through it together. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine curiosity about you. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, respected, and understood, so I prioritize building a relationship where you can speak openly. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and deeply committed to creating a space that is welcoming and inclusive of BIPOC clients. Your identities, experiences, and cultural context matter. If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with openness, respect, and care, I’d be glad to connect.

I help folks get unstuck by using strategies and conserving their energy as best they can. Sometimes all the insight in the world doesn't change your life. I use various behavior therapies so we can understand how and why you tick AND come up with tangible steps towards the life you’ve always wanted. Virtual evening skills groups! I offer virtual DBT skills groups for adults including: young adults, mixed ages and all genders, women only and men only. Generally the folks I work with struggle with high sensitivity, perfectionism, and mild/moderate depression and anxiety symptoms. Most of the folks I work with use the psychoeducational group to enhance the individual healing work they are already doing. The group adds structure and accountability to practicing evidence based coping strategies to better manage moods, identify triggers, improve relationships/communication and overall stress management techniques.
