I like to create a safe and supportive environment to allow clients to explore the challenges in their lives and to create healthier coping strategies and ways of thinking to live happier and more satisfying lives. I enjoy working with adults and older adolescents struggling with stress, life problems, self-confidence, and/or relationship issues. I have a background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I utilize a variety of techniques in sessions. I am a strong believer in "word choice" and becoming aware of the implications our words have on our thoughts and feelings.

Hello! My overarching approach is Relationship-Based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I find that integrating CBT with key therapeutic relationship factors such as validation, empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness produce the best outcomes. When appropriate, I also utilize such approaches as mindfulness, acceptance, and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills. My goal is to not only reduce the distress from your presenting problems but also improve your overall well-being and experience personal growth across many facets of life. I have specialized in treating adolescents and adults in various settings, from inpatient psychiatric hospitals to community outpatient clinics. I can treat significant mental health issues like PTSD and chronic depression, while also providing support for significant life adjustments like transitioning to college and high school related stressors. I’m originally from central MA and a psychology professor at Assumption University where I teach graduate students to be CBT counselors. Please feel free to explore my website to learn more about me and the services I provide. I pride myself in establishing a strong therapeutic relationship while working towards goals that are important to you!

I have been a mental health counselor for 20 years. I enjoy the process of helping others help themselves. I trust together we can improve your overall life experience. One of the most important things to be looked at is how you interpret experiences and understanding the influence on your moods. Using a journal is a tool to improve your outcomes in therapy. I look forward to meeting you either online or in-person at my home office.

It's ok to ask for help. But it's also ok to wonder if a therapist can really help you. It's true that I can't erase your past or instantly take away your pain (although I wish I could). However, I can help you carry your burdens more lightly, whether that means healing from trauma, finding closure from a relationship, or learning new ways of coping with depression and anxiety. I can offer you a new perspective on the issues that you are dealing with. You have struggled alone long enough. Therapy is your time to feel supported and understood. I have extensive experience treating a variety of issues (see list of specialties below). I use several therapeutic approaches including person-centered, strength-based, interpersonal, compassion focused, multicultural, and CBT. Therapy is not a "one size fits all" approach. We will work together to figure out the best approach for your individual needs. I know it's difficult to reach out to someone you hardly know and share struggles that are so deeply personal to you. I will offer you a safe space where you can just come as you are. Clients describe me as kind, caring, and nonjudgmental. Please contact me for a complimentary consultation to see if we might be a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.

As humans, we all have the capacity for change. At some point, we are confronted with challenging life situations and may respond in ways that do not align with our values. Part of our work in therapy can be towards examining the "why" and making positive adaptations. Therapy can be used as a tool to examine difficult patterns and develop fresh perspectives over time. This work requires much vulnerability and I am here to listen and align in the direction of your own personal breakthroughs. Join me as we work together to create a grounded and inclusive space for reflection, transparency, and self-compassion as you learn to navigate the highs, lows, and unpredictability that life brings. I have a passion for working with young adults as they navigate the, sometimes difficult, processes of exploring their mental and emotional health and well being while also juggling their school, work, and relationships in their life. I work with students who are experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, stress management, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, along with many other struggles that are occurring. When working together, you will be given a safe and nonjudgmental space to gain deeper insight into what you are struggling with. You will be able to take therapy at your own pace and develop skill to help regulate emotions, manage life stressors, experience growth, and access the strength you have had all along. We will work together as a team throughout. I offer an empathetic, caring, and trauma-informed therapeutic environment. I believe that you are the expert of your life and it is an honor to be apart of that journey. Let's connect further to see if this would be a space that could be beneficial towards helping you gain deeper insight into yourself and achieving your goals.
