BODA Therapy offers a new approach for preteens, adolescents, young adults, and families. Rooted in accessibility, engagement, and accountability, we facilitate experiential therapy and coaching through familiar, enjoyable activities that extend beyond traditional hour-long office sessions. We provide a structured accountability program to prevent backsliding and reinforce progress. We also design customized 3-to-5-night retreats in the Catskills, blending immersive outdoor experiences with therapy that is dynamic, meaningful, and often enjoyable. BODA Therapy aims to take clients outdoors, where exposure to nature has been clinically proven to improve mood, enhance concentration, and reduce stress. We strive to make therapy enjoyable while creating a blueprint for maintaining long-term well-being. When therapy becomes enjoyable, clients are more engaged and more invested in their own growth.
I specialize in supporting adults navigating OCD, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, and bipolar disorder. My focus is on understanding the whole person—your experiences, strengths, and challenges—rather than just symptoms. I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, and I adapt my style based on what resonates best with you, whether that means a more structured approach or a more exploratory, insight-oriented conversation. My goal is to empower you with tools and understanding you can carry beyond our sessions. Supporting patients in developing coping skills, accessing resources, and maintaining hope during difficult times inspires me. I am deeply committed to reducing stigma and ensuring that mental healthcare is accessible, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. Outside of work, I like to engage in activities that help me feel relaxed and present. Sometimes that means going for a walk outdoors to clear my mind. Other times, I might read a good book, listen to music, or spend time with friends and family.
Wellness, and relationships play a vital role in our everyday lives so let's work together to achieve your individual goals and relationship satisfaction. My dedication and passion for guiding clients and supervisees is unmatched as I not only help you survive, but thrive. My treatment and supervision specializations include trauma, anxiety, sex and intimacy, sexual dysfunctions, sexuality exploration, gender diversity, and relationships. My experience in counselor education, counseling supervision, and research supports counselors-in-training seeking personal growth, multicultural competency, and professional development.
When you’re ready to seek support, I am here to help you take the first step. As a licensed clinical social worker (LMSW) with an eclectic approach, I work with emerging adults, bicultural individuals, and those dealing with life transitions navigate stress and anxiety, self-esteem issues, identity issues, academic struggles, relationship problems, and making sense of past experiences. I aim to create space for you to process emotions and thoughts about past experiences and take away core strengths and values that empower you in your future life. My approach starts with collaboration and pulls from a relationship of mutual respect and trust to engender your lasting growth and self-discovery. In our time together, you can expect a dynamic and non-judgmental environment where we change approaches to fit your needs and work to get closer to emotional truths. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic modalities, and other therapeutic approaches to help you get to the roots of your beliefs and behaviors. At all times, I believe in honesty and transparency, helping me to connect warmly and be present to you. I look forward to helping you find acceptance and balance throughout our sessions. My experience as a bicultural person navigating corporate and academic spaces drove me to become a therapist who helps individuals understand their values and identities separate from judgements of those around them. After witnessing members of my community become increasingly disconnected from themselves, I became deeply committed to providing a validating and respectful processing space on the road to each person's journey of self-actualization. When I’m not working, I love indulging in my hobbies – getting lost in a good book, playing board games, and exploring new cuisines!
Inclusive Psychotherapy in New York for Adolescents, Adults, and Couples/Relationships You worry all the time about being judged by other people. You feel disconnected from your body and, at the same time, feel like it’s all you think about. You question what you say, how your body looks, if you’re doing things “right,” and there are so many times when your mind feels like it’s on a hamster wheel that you can’t stop. You’re on edge all day and sometimes feel like you may be having a heart attack. You don’t feel like you fit in anywhere. You’ve been made fun of for many different parts of who you are. You’ve been called weird or misunderstood at work, in your family, and even in some of your dating relationships. You’ve struggled to find someone who feels like a good fit romantically, and you’re worried there’s something wrong with you. From the start, we want you to know that at Meadow Therapy, we believe you have inherent worth simply by being born. Throughout your life, you’ve learned tools for survival that may no longer feel like they serve you. We can help you shift those survival skills using Mind to Body Psychotherapy. Mind to Body Psychotherapy is a mix of body-based work, exploration of childhood hurts, the neuroscience of emotions/emotional regulation, and other concrete coping skills, that will help you tap into your inner resources. You already have many creative tools you’ve used for survival. One of our goals is to help you move out of survival mode into having a thriving and fulfilling life. We offer inclusive therapy for adolescents and adults, couples therapy, and group therapy. Using Mind-to-Body Psychotherapy, we can help quiet your harsh thoughts, soothe your racing heart, and calm your body. We specialize in working with trauma survivors, LGBTQIA+, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, Trans and Gender-Nonconforming, Self-Harming, Addicted, fat/larger-bodied, disabled, kink/BDSM, and polyamorous people. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years experience specializing in individuals in the arts and young adults. I have a specialty in college mental health due to my work at the counseling centers at New York University and Smith College. I am licensed to practice in New York and Massachusetts. I spent the majority of my career as the on-site therapist at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, providing psychotherapy primarily with actors, filmmakers, writers and other visual and performing artists I work with a wide range of presenting issues, including depression, anxiety, separation/individuation, bereavement, relationship concerns and LGBTQIA concerns, as well as the challenges particular to artists such as performance anxiety, career anxiety and writer's block.
I strive to help people understand their emotional and behavioral patterns and work towards behaviors that can generate meaning and purpose. The evidence-based therapies that I use help treat OCD, trauma, anxiety, depression, phobias, eating disorders, and more. I utilize an empathic and nonjudgmental stance, and aim to compassionately recognize the function of behaviors, and why they might make sense in the past and present. The evidence-based practices I use will include learning skills to help foster more flexible and effective responses to painful and difficult thoughts and feelings. I firmly believe in tailoring treatment to meet your unique needs and goals, and believe our collaboration and therapeutic relationship is essential in this process. My hope is that together we can create a space where you can relate differently to painful thoughts and feelings and create change in their presence.
I GREW UP IN THE IN-BETWEEN — moving back and forth between the US and China, I know first-hand what it is like to be faced with the unknown, the struggle of finding yourself in a new place, a new culture, a new stage of life, or a new identity. I FIND JOY in helping people find the pieces of themselves they can rely on and fall in love with through it all. My goal is to honor the beauty of your existence while teaching you the skills that can carry you through rougher times. The process of healing, learning who you are and what you need to care for yourself, is a challenging but rewarding one. IT TAKES COURAGE to confront and accept yourself completely, and I hope to provide a compassionate and safe space for you to explore, to grieve, to rage, or to find joy in everything that you've experienced. The fact that you have survived everything so far to be here now is more important than anything else. It is an honor for me to witness your courage and your strength. IT IS A PRIVILEGE to be a part of your journey. I admire you. You matter to me.
