I support individuals to navigate through stressors and life transitions. I help individuals to enhance communication skills to foster empowerment while strengthening confidence in their ability to create positive change. My goal is to support you to empower yourself to make informed decisions that align with your values and desired outcomes. I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution Focused and Strengths Based approaches to remain action oriented, collaboratively working towards your goals. I support clients with developing awareness and viewing the big picture. For me therapy is the work that you do outside of the session time. The mindful & intentional efforts you make to reflect & apply new skills as well as new perspectives to your day-to-day experience; that's where the change will really take place. The work I do with my clients is often centered around Self-Love; being able to nurture acceptance of your true self is often the key to alleviating a vast number of concerns and challenges. I feel passionate about supporting individuals & couples to re-define their boundaries & take ownership of their identity. Collaboration is the key to success!

Therapy can deepen your capacity for love, trust, and connection — with yourself and with others. I’ve seen it ease depression, anxiety, and shame; strengthen self-esteem; and help people become more resilient during life’s ups and downs. Most of all, it can bring forward a truer, more authentic self. Therapy is a collaborative process. You speak, and I listen closely — for what’s said and what lies beneath the surface — helping you see what may be getting in the way of a more fulfilling life. As Carl Rogers wrote: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” I’ve found that to be true. Patients find it helpful to explore childhood, memories that bubble up, dreams, feelings, fears, wishes — whatever arises. Our aim is an understanding of your inner world that leads to meaningful action & choice. With couples, I help you listen more clearly & break entrenched patterns. Everyone longs to be seen and heard & I'll help you arrive at that place. As a therapist and writer, I’m inspired to help each patient take hold of their narrative — understanding where they’ve come from & where they’d like to go. As we get to know one another, I tailor my style to your personality and needs. Your feedback is always encouraged. Email me to schedule a consultation & see if we’re a good fit. As a counselor, I base my approach on my academic knowledge, and real world experience. I attended therapy as a young adolescent due to a loud home environment and being bullied by my peers. I learnt that therapy is a place to further strengthen personal boundaries and ways for practice self expression. Everything that I teach my clients focuses on increasing trust in oneself. Trust yourself to be supported by your environment and to make the best decision in any given moment. Trust that whatever happens, you will be okay.

Clients come to me when they feel overwhelmed in life. The challenge is that the college experience can exacerbate these issues. It can be hard to navigate not only the academic expectations, but also the issues in our relationships. College is a unique and fleeting experience. I would be happy to support you in managing stressors to make this a positive experience. Our work together is based on radical kindness, cultural understanding, and empathy.

Kelly Solis is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York. She has more than 10 years of experience working in the social service and behavioral health field. Throughout her career, Kelly has worked with various populations in a number of different settings. Currently, Kelly provides individual psychotherapy to adults who are struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety and panic, grief, or stress. Many of Kelly's clients experience feelings of sadness and low mood, sleep difficulties, low energy, trouble with concentration; as well as, feelings of anxiousness and worry, difficulty relaxing, and feelings of restlessness. She also provides support to those experiencing difficulty coping with life transitions, loss, relationship issues/conflict, work stress, and trauma. Kelly’s approach to therapy is client centered and strengths based. Kelly helps clients identify how certain patterns of behavior or unresolved traumas can impact their functioning in the present. Using CBT concepts, she educates clients on how one's thoughts can influence their feelings and behaviors. For those experiencing stress, Kelly works with her client to identify what is contributing to their distress and explore ways to improve coping, so that those stressors become more manageable. Kelly takes pride in meeting clients where they are and fosters a space where clients feel heard, safe, and where judgement does not exist. During the intake, Kelly will utilize that visit to gather information to understand the client's history and set goals together. She may assign homework which can help clients become more insightful as they move through the therapeutic process. Clients often leave sessions feeling relieved, understood, and overtime notice a reduction in symptoms. Whether it's your first time pursuing therapy or you're familiar with the process, it's important to choose someone who is a good fit and that meets your needs. Everyone deserves to have a space where they can be their authentic selves, express their feelings, receive unbiased feedback, and where they feel supported. I understand personally how challenging it can be dealing with stress, depression, anxiety and other life issues, which helps me relate with clients on a deeper level. There's a life saying that I love which is "Grow through what you go through." If you are in need of support or looking to foster change and growth, please feel free to contact me for a free phone consultation.

I enjoy working with clients who are eager to improve areas in their lives related to self-esteem, relationships, intimacy, sexuality, trauma, and career satisfaction. Together we will increase your self-acceptance, authenticity, and connectedness with others; you will develop skills to reduce feelings of shame, anxiety, and hopelessness. My warm, open-minded, and non-judgmental style cultivates a process that is both inviting and challenging. We'll explore and confront the cognitive and behavioral blocks in your daily life, as well as past events that are still holding you back. Because no two individuals are the same, our treatment plan will be tailored to reflect your goals. In addition to being a psychotherapist, I have been a full-time professor at New York University for the past 20 years. I specialize in counseling clients in the entertainment industry, creatives in related fields, college students, and the LGBTQ community. Email me for a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit.

My goal is to support clients in becoming the best version of themselves. I see therapy as a tool to support and motivate clients in taking control of their lives. I believe that therapy is truly for everyone- you do not need to have a major problem to start therapy. Therapy can be a place where we discuss the good things happening in your life! However, starting therapy is a vulnerable process. I am here to support your experiences and to provide you with the tools to better cope with situations. I focus on exploring clients' inner voices and beliefs that dictate how we interpret situations. I work with young adults and adults. I work mainly with issues around self worth, communication, anxiety, and life transitions. I have a background in education and empathize with young adults and adults striving for perfectionism. I also feel passionately about helping young adults feel empowered and find happiness and success in their careers and the corporate world. As a Jewish therapist, I bring a strong appreciation for how culture, identity, and personal values shape the way we move through the world. I aim to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can show up fully as yourself—whether you’re navigating school stress, relationships, family dynamics, or figuring out who you want to be in this next chapter of your life.
