Are you ready for change? What I love most about my work is seeing clients make meaningful strides toward feeling better—little by little, day by day. As an experienced anxiety therapist in Rochester and Pittsford NY I specialize in helping clients identify and change the negative thoughts and beliefs that impact their happiness and well-being. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we’ll work to transform those self-critical, anxious thoughts into more positive, empowering ones. This shift can be life-changing—whether it’s managing ANXIETY, overcoming DEPRESSION, tackling SOCIAL PHOBIAS, or working through TRAUMA. I’m here to help you make that shift and find relief.

I come to this work from a place of deep respect for each individual’s story and path. I believe in creating an inclusive, welcoming space where you will feel comfortable exploring both your strengths and your challenges. I have a collaborative approach and value being direct, supportive, responsive to feedback. I have a background in Women’s Studies and literature and creative writing and may incorporate creative and expressive activities such as storytelling and reading other people’s stories as part of our work. I have experience working with a range of issues and populations (see below). I am passionate about women’s and LGBTQI issues and have extensive experience working with gender expansive and transgender individuals along the gender continuum. Fundamentally, I believe the relationship between an individual and his/her/their therapist matters much more than the specific techniques employed. My primary focus early in therapy is developing a relationship where my clients trust me and feel comfortable. I work with individuals in an open and honest dialogue and help individuals increase resiliency and coping skills through identifying their strengths. Primarily I provide individual counseling on a weekly basis. Many clients will be able to work through a particular issue or issues in a brief time, but I am also able to work with clients over a longer span of time.

You're smart. You've always figured things out. So why does it feel like your emotions are the one thing you can't get a handle on? Maybe you've got the grades, the group chat, the schedule packed with things you're "supposed" to want... and still find yourself lying in bed at 2am wondering why everything feels so heavy. That's actually exactly the kind of thing I work on with you in therapy. I'm Mallory Grimste, LCSW, a therapist based in Branford, CT who specializes in working with teens, college students, and young adults who are emotionally overwhelmed and high-achieving at the same time. (Yes, both. It's more common than you think.) I use a DBT-informed approach, which basically means I teach real, practical strategies- the kind you can actually use when you're about to crash out before a big exam or spiraling after a hard conversation. We can work on anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, and navigating relationships — including the one you have with yourself. My clients don't just feel better in session. They leave treatment feeling more confident in who they are, more capable of handling the hard stuff, and genuinely proud of how far they've come. I offer telehealth sessions in Connecticut and New York, and in-person sessions in Branford, CT. If that sounds like what you've been looking for, I'd love to connect. 👉 Learn more and apply to work together: mallorygrimste.com/counseling-services

Rina is a relational and insight-oriented therapist who works with thoughtful adults seeking greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and meaningful personal growth. Based in private practice, she offers therapy for individuals navigating anxiety, identity shifts, life transitions, and recurring relationship patterns. Rina welcomes clients who may appear steady outwardly yet feel unsettled beneath the surface and are ready to approach therapy with curiosity, honesty, and depth. Her work is grounded in the belief that lasting change develops through reflection, self-awareness, and a consistent therapeutic relationship. Rina provides a calm, respectful space where emotional and embodied experience can be explored with care. For nearly 20 years, I have worked with adolescents and young adults who have anxiety, mood disorders, gender identity issues, family conflicts and trauma from many different backgrounds. There is no single case that is identical to another, and everyone has their own unique story. I want to hear your story so that I may join your journey to heal. My main approaches are CBT, Family Systems Theory, EMDR, and somatic approaches. I also incorporate Eastern philosophy and focus on the mind-body connection to assist clients in understanding their challenges and rediscovering their authentic selves. As a person who came to the United States as a teen, I personally understand the pressure to succeed, the challenges to navigate the US college system, and the loneliness that limited resources and guidance that first generation college students go through. I have also advocated for people of color and the LGTBQ+ population in an effort to improve equality and deal with human rights issues many years. I strive to provide a safe environment for all of my clients without judgment. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

I am trained in EMDR and attend monthly consultation with a certified EMDR consultant. Many people come to me with knowledge or curiosity of stored trauma in the body and its effects. This can look like persistent anxiety, "unexplained" health challenges like autoimmune disease, pelvic pain, abdominal pain and more. Additionally, clients will come to me and say that despite years of talk therapy they still feel stuck and want to explore how EMDR may be helpful for them. EMDR is an 8 phase process that doesn't have a specific timeline; it is catered to your needs and goals and progress is closely monitored throughout.

Hi, I'm Lisa Grine, MSN, APN, PMHNP-BC Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for College Students What Students Say About Me "Great listener, knowledgeable, and kind-hearted." Years of Experience 10 years+ My Approach I'm both warm and direct—able to match whatever you need in that moment. Sometimes that means sitting with you quietly and listening. Other times it means telling you what I see, even when it's hard to hear. Our sessions are structured conversations, not free-flowing chats. I believe that clarity helps. What I Work With Most • Anxiety, mood concerns,(mental health during prenatal, during pregnancy, and postpartum needs), and depression to name a few • High-achieving students experiencing burnout and life transitions • Young adults-both undergrad and graduate students How I Work Often, college students feel forced to choose between success and wellbeing — but together, we can find a way to balance both! I take a holistic approach to care, which means looking at the whole person, not just symptoms. And let's be honest, it's no surprise that college life can throw our health off track — skipping fresh air, surviving on less-than-ideal food, and running on questionable amounts of sleep are basically a rite of passage. Integrative and Holistic care also means honoring your religious beliefs, ethics, morals, and value systems, because those things genuinely shape who you are. I offer medications when clinically appropriate, but my focus goes far beyond that. Having worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, I understand the intensity of acute care as well as the importance of building sustainable, everyday coping strategies that actually fit your life. Who I'm Best Suited For I tend to connect well with women, men, and provide mental health support for women who are pregnant, peri/postpartum. I am strictly telehealth and so if someone needs a stimulant or controlled substance I can recommend providers who are in person or hybrid to match those needs based on current laws and restrictions. I'm upfront about this because I believe matching matters. If you are in any acute danger please seek emergency care first as this practice is outpatient. If you're looking for a provider who shares certain values or experiences, that can make a difference in how comfortable you feel.
