Therapists for college students near 97201
College and grad school can bring a lot of pressure—and for many students, that can show up in their relationship with food and their body. Between academic stress, social comparison, changing routines, and campus culture, it's common for body image concerns and eating disorder symptoms to become more intense. As an eating disorder registered dietitian, I provide compassionate, trauma-informed nutrition counseling from a Health at Every Size® (HAES®) and All Foods Fit approach. Whether you're struggling with an eating disorder, chronic dieting, body image, or simply want to feel more at peace with food, I'm here to help you build a healthier, more flexible relationship with eating and with yourself. I also lead Yoga for Embodiment and offer virtual sessions for Illinois and Oregon residents.
My clients are exhausted and overwhelmed like you. They are tired of doing their best to keep all these balls (school, work, parenting, relationships, self-care, health and wellbeing, sleep + more) up in the air (even though admittedly they are pretty darn good at it). But when they inevitably drop a few because something else pops up or they get tired, life feels messy and they are quick to place judgements on themselves. My clients are expert problem solvers and doers, who in the face of stress, just keep going. Some are the type of person who the people in their life lean on for support. Some have tried a number of ways to fix or problem solve their way our of their emotions or exhaustion. They find their coping to work for a little bit but aren't moving them towards the life they imagined for themselves. Some realize they aren't sure they can keep up with all of what needs to be done to feel "okay". When some of my clients do take time for themselves or the rest they need, their mind struggles with feeling guilty, worrying about what they "should" be doing for work/school/person (fill in the blank with any responsibility). Like my clients, you deserve to find ease and connection in your body without a to-do list flowing through your head or scanning your body for what’s wrong now. Not being defined or consumed by your productivity is not out of your reach. I'd love to help you get there. Contact me today for a free consultation.

My work with clients is collaborative, compassionate and focused on strengths. My training as a couples and family therapist and background in mathematics provides a unique perspective from which to explore your context: how your experiences, relationships, identities and larger systemic issues contribute to the challenges you're experiencing. I will aim to create a strong and trustworthy relationship with you, work with you to define and achieve goals, and offer assessments when appropriate. We will focus on amplifying your strengths and resources and supporting you to create change in a manner that is most empowering to you. Please note: I am accepting new clients for my waitlist.
With my client-centered focus, I work hard to build a therapeutic relationship that creates a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental space for clients to present themselves to their fullest potential. My priority is to guide and support each client in their journey to develop their sense of self-love, confidence, and peace of mind and body. Some of the issues I work with are relationship issues, academic stress, ADHD, parenting support, parent-child relationship issues, peer conflict, family conflict, anxiety, depression, cultural adjustment, life transitions, coping skills and general stress. I have extensive experience working with high-risk children, teens, and families experiencing a diverse range of emotional and behavioral problems at home and school, and symptoms resulting from disrupted attachment. I also have experience working with clients from minority cultures and marginalized groups. Growing up in another country, having knowledge and experience around a diversity of cultures allows me to be more open-minded, compassionate, and humble in supporting clients through a more holistic lens. It is never easy to take the first step, know that my goal in the therapeutic process is to create a safe and supportive environment for you.
Hi! I’m a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in Oregon and Idaho with 19 years of experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. I enjoy working with college students navigating stress, anxiety, identity, relationships, burnout, life transitions, and self-esteem challenges. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, with the goal of helping you feel supported while building practical tools for everyday life. Reaching out for support can feel intimidating, and I strive to create a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself.
Humor is something I like to incorporate into therapy; however, we can be serious about your concerns too. People of all ages struggle with human suffering and sometimes you need someone to walk with you through that, whether it be something you wish to change or something that you cannot. I aim to help my clients make meaning in life while also identifying the connections between our individual concerns and larger systems in life. I provide individual therapy for a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and trauma, with specialized experience supporting people through grief, traumatic loss, and substance use concerns. My clients have expressed appreciation for my ability to sit with them in their suffering, when they have felt most alone. I have multiple years of experience previously working in college counseling centers. During these experiences, I supported students from a variety of backgrounds and found a lot of joy in helping students at a unique intersection in their lives. I have been lucky to work with a diverse student population and have supported many queer and trans students in exploring their gender and sexual identities while also addressing other mental health concerns. In addition, I was able to support BIPOC students as they addressed systemic issues within the university, while also exploring their individual racial identities. I further co-facilitated a family-trauma group during my time at a university counseling center. Thus, I find that I greatly appreciate being able to sit with students who are addressing these concerns. I am a Psychologist Resident in OR. I have my doctorate and five years of experience providing therapy, however, to become licensed in OR I must complete a supervised residency. I am supervised by Dr. Carrie McMullin (OR 2963). Champion Family Therapy is a small, locally owned practice founded by Jessica Champion, LMFT in 2018. Prior to opening Champion Family Therapy, Jessica Champion had the vision for fifteen years of creating a mental health therapy practice that was family-centered. She saw the need for a clinic that would address the challenges of individuals, couples and families, by incorporating the many facets of recovery, including relational dynamics and core beliefs transferred through generations. From this vision, Champion Family Therapy was born. At Champion Family Therapy, we understand that most people seek therapy after unwelcome challenges in their lives. We are always moved by the desire for change and the risk it takes to make that call. It is our job to meet you where you are with competence and compassion.

I have over 15 years experience helping people heal from anxiety, traumatic memories, mood disorders, and addictive patterns. Like the willow tree—strong, flexible, and deeply rooted—I strive to help people navigate life’s changes with resilience, clarity, and compassion. I offer online therapy in Texas and Oregon for individuals, couples, adults, and teenagers. I look forward to meeting with you and answering any questions you have. I integrate EMDR, CBT, Narrative Therapy, ACT, DBT, and mindfulness based approaches. In addition to this I have specialized training and experience working with active and former military, and LGBTQA populations.

Do you struggle to say "no" to people? Do you feel guilty when you do? Do you feel pressure to make others happy while never getting what you need? Do you stay in bad relationships for too long? Do you feel stuck relationally, emotionally, or in your career path? There are explanations for this behavior and ways to change it. I love helping people learn how to have healthy boundaries with others, their work, or some other habit they are concerned about. If you want to understand yourself better and possibly learn to make healthier choices based on your values, I would love to work with you. Therapy is sometimes the first positive step that represents caring for yourself. It is an acknowledgement that you are worth the effort. I am an ally regardless of race, culture, physical ability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, immigration status, political affiliation, sexual orientation, or spiritual beliefs. Many people experience symptoms of anxiety and depression because they are currently OR have been in relation (family, friend, partner, co-worker, etc) to another person who has OR has had a substance or other behavioral problem. The negative effects can be long-lasting, confusing, and persist without treatment. If this is a familiar for you, call me.

My name is Paul Radel and I am a clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working with individuals to address issues and maximize their potential. I strive to create an environment that is welcoming and safe where people can work collaboratively on their journey. Transitioning into college or post college has a plethora of stressors, options, and uncertainty that can be hard to navigate, especially when maladaptive patterns or past experiences get in the way of being our best selves. I live in Eugene, Oregon but practice soley through telehealth software called intakeQ which offers secure and confidential communication and hosts therapy sessions.
