When stress and emotional overwhelm build up, it can feel like you’re slowly losing yourself. I’m Esther, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I have a passion for working with young adults who carry a lot on their shoulders. I carry the lived experience of being a first-generation Latina college student of mixed heritage. I understand the emotional complexity of balancing cultural values, family expectations, and personal growth, and how isolating or overwhelming that process can feel at times. This perspective allows me to connect deeply with the unique strengths, resilience, and challenges that come with belonging to multiple worlds and sometimes feeling torn between them. My therapeutic style is grounded in authenticity— I show up as myself, using warmth, humor, and gentle directness to help you explore the parts of your life that feel heavy, complicated, or stuck. My goal is to provide clients the space where their vulnerability is honored, so that their own sense of authenticity can flourish. I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship struggles, identity concerns, trauma, cultural and family expectations, and perfectionism. I earned both my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where my training was grounded in culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and person-centered care. I use a blend of therapeutic approaches tailored to each client, mostly drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and feeling a sense of connection matters. I offer a 15-minute consultation as a way for us to talk about what you’re hoping for, answer any questions you may have, and see if my approach feels like the right fit for you. If you’re ready to explore your story in a meaningful and empowering way, I’d be honored to walk with you through that process.
My path started by working in alternative high schools, and then as a career counselor in management and business development roles for a few universities and military populations. I have over 18 years of experience working in education, career development, and mental health. My experience growing up in Flint, Michigan, and being the first in my family to attend college, shaped how I view and overcome challenges. I specialize in support for working professionals, especially teachers, nurses, and students with anxiety or depression who are struggling in their careers, education, or relationships. Many feel stuck, burnt out, angry, and overwhelmed. Chronic stress makes it hard for them to connect with their instructors, bosses, and peers. Time management is an issue and constantly trying to keep up. Some may prefer to be alone, even though it leads to ruminating over traumatic work experiences and substance use. My clients have demanding jobs and/or class schedules, and are highly trained and accustomed to solving problems. However, no one is immune to the long-term effects of stress and trauma. I have over 18 years working in counseling, higher education, and career development. My communication style is warm, yet solution-focused, often encouraging you to think from the end, build your resilience, and focus on the future. Some clients get what they need to make a positive change in 6-8 sessions. Others enjoy my long-term support to address trauma. First time trying talk therapy? Congrats on taking the first step. I value confidentiality and understand the college campus and workplace cultures. You do not have to go through this alone. Let's get you out of survival mode and start to thrive. Reach out to schedule your complimentary 15-minute consultation today. I look forward to talking with you.

Araceli is trained in both Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) and Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET), evidence-based approaches that help people better understand and work with chronic conditions such as chronic (unexplained) pain, anxiety, migraines, dizziness/vertigo, IBS, tinnitus, fatigue, brain fog and other stress-related symptoms. These therapies help patients relate to symptoms in a new way—by reducing fear, strengthening the mind-body connection, processing difficult emotions, and helping the brain “unlearn” the patterns that keep symptoms stuck. Araceli’s work focuses on supporting individuals living with chronic conditions to feel safer in their bodies, more emotionally connected, and more empowered in their healing.

I integrate EMDR, CBT, Narrative Therapy, ACT, DBT, and mindfulness based approaches. I work with individuals across the lifespan whether it is stepping into adulthood through college, embracing the journey of parenthood, caregiving for family member, or adjusting to other new life stages and identities. In addition to this I have specialized training and experience working with active and former military, and LGBTQA populations.
Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker who practiced in a college counseling setting for over 4 years and I have 15 years of counseling experience total. I continue to work with college students in my private practice and I enjoy working with people to better manage anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, OCD, grief, life transitions, relationship, concerns, and general stress. My practice is body positive and LGBTQ+, immigrant, and international student supportive and affirming. I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for processing fears, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. I also welcome your feedback in the process. I strongly encourage coming to therapy in the way that you are most comfortable - meaning, swear if you feel the need, don't apologize for eating in sessions if you are hungry, show up in your pajamas - whatever. As long as you are safe and comfortable and you are able to talk privately, I support it. I offer a free 15 minute consultation call to see if we are a good fit, because having a therapist you trust and match with is paramount. You may feel disconnected from yourself—questioning your worth, your decisions, or your place in relationships. Perhaps your inner dialogue is critical, self-doubt feels persistent, or you find yourself repeating the same unhelpful relationship patterns. As an individual or as a couple, you want more than symptom relief. You want clarity, confidence, and healthier ways of relating—to yourself and to each other. You’re looking for a space to slow down, make sense of what’s weighing on you, and begin showing up differently in your life and relationships. I take a trauma-informed, integrative approach tailored to your needs. I believe insight fosters understanding, clarity, and awareness—and once awareness is present, change becomes a choice. Together, we’ll explore the thought patterns and relational dynamics shaping how you see yourself and show up in your relationships. Depending on your goals, we may explore how past experiences affect the present or focus on practical strategies for current challenges. I work with individuals and couples facing self-esteem concerns, identity struggles, unhelpful thinking patterns, relationship stress, burnout, and life transitions.
I am a LMSW licensed in TX. I support folks navigating grief, ADHD, autism, gender and/or sexuality exploration, relationship shifts after gender transition, and life as a child of immigrants. If you’re dealing with something that isn’t listed here but you think we’d vibe, I encourage you to reach out for a consult. Therapy with me isn’t about fitting into a box, it’s about co-creating a space that makes sense for you. I am supervised by Max Casero (LCSW-S).
Throughout life, we are constantly growing, changing, and evolving. Navigating these transitions can bring about uncomfortable feelings or challenge us to learn something new about ourselves. You may be a young adult learning how to live independently, a new parent, trying to start a family, looking for a career change, or just wanting to improve your current relationships. No matter what stage of life you are in, you are brave to look for support and I am glad you’re here. I believe working through and processing difficulties can bring hope, healing, and ultimately growth. I work to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space and to collaborate with clients helping them find their identity, their strengths, their passions and help to understand their value so that they reach their therapeutic goals. Ultimately my hope is that my clients, regardless of age, will reach a level of self-acceptance where they feel empowered and lead fulfilling lives with meaningful relationships.
Starting therapy does not mean you are falling apart. Sometimes it just means you are ready to stop carrying everything alone. I work with college students and young adults who are trying to manage school, work, family, relationships, stress, anxiety, and everything else that comes with figuring life out. Some clients come in feeling overwhelmed or burned out. Some are dealing with trauma, self-doubt, relationship issues, or patterns they are tired of repeating. I also enjoy working with BIPOC students, first-generation students, student veterans, service members, and military-connected students. Therapy with me is a space to be honest about what you are carrying, sort through what feels heavy, and feel like someone actually gets it. We can start wherever you are.
My practice is characterized by a practical, solution-focused approach; rather than simply identifying obstacles, we collaborate to develop actionable strategies for overcoming them. I provide a secure, supportive environment where Christian values are integrated into the therapeutic process as we work toward your lasting peace and restoration.
Let's be real. Anxiety is a b!tch. You know the kind I mean. Heart racing, chest tight, skin crawling, lying awake at 3am when you have to be up at 6. The kind that doesn't care how put-together you look on the outside. Most of my clients grew up in environments where they had to stay on guard just to get through the day. Emotionally unsafe, physically unsafe, or both. They learned early that keeping quiet, going along with things, and making themselves small was the smartest way to avoid getting hurt. And it worked, for a while. The problem is, survival strategies don't just turn off. So now you're people-pleasing in relationships you're not happy in. Biting your tongue when you should be speaking up. Telling yourself "it's fine" when it's really, really not. You know that voice in your head that says I should be over this by now? That's not clarity. That's the trauma talking. Here's what I see in my clients before they start working with me: they're exhausted. Not tired, exhausted. Drained by the constant hum of worry. Distant from the people they care about. Too spent to return a text, too anxious to be present, too guarded to actually rest. They carry it all in their chest like a weight they've stopped noticing because it's been there so long. You deserve something different. Not "managed" anxiety. Not white-knuckling your way through the week. Actually different. Setting your own terms. Saying no without a three-paragraph apology. Showing up in your relationships without shrinking. Feeling okay in your own skin without needing someone else's approval first. If you want to ditch the anxiety, break out of people-pleasing, and finally start living on your own terms, I'd love to help you get there.
College is exciting! It can also be terrifying, overwhelming, and lonely. Even if you have your educational and career path chosen and locked in. For most young adults, it's their first time living independently and truly stepping into this thing called adulthood. There is a new level of responsibility that can feel like it's too much. Do you find yourself feeling anxious before classes or social events that are supposed to be THE thing in college? Maybe you're finding it harder and harder to get out of bed, go to work, complete your assignments, or to even hang out with friends. You may find yourself questioning your choices about any and everything, including school. Finding who you are as a young adult, independent of your family can be daunting. On the other side of the college journey is preparing to graduate and step into the professional world. All of these experiences are likely to bring up stress and conflicting emotions within you. In our work together you will find a safe and affirming place to explore who you are, what you want and where you're going. You will learn ways to recognize, honor and manage your feelings in ways that are inline with your values. You will be able to talk about the hard stuff, while also finding moments of humor in this ride we call life. Are you ready to feel more in control of your feelings and more confident as you step into the next phase of life? Reach out to me and let's do this!
