Therapists for college students near New York, NY
With nine years of experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specializing in psychiatry and family health, I offer comprehensive and attentive care for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults navigating some of life's most challenging transitions. My areas of focus include ADHD, anxiety, depression and mood disorders, OCD, stress, and trauma and PTSD. No matter what you’re facing, I take a holistic approach to care, treating the whole person to address symptoms. My goal is to be the kind of provider who encourages mindfulness, coping skills, and stress management for you to be your optimal self. What grounds my work is a belief that good psychiatric care starts by knowing who a person is and what drives their individual goals. In practice, sessions are structured and purposeful while still leaving room for exploration. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused approaches, we'll explore your past and inner experiences while working toward the clarity that makes change possible. When medication is part of your care, I bring the same attention to detail to prescribing and management as I do to every other aspect of our work together. You can always expect an environment that feels serene and focused, a space where you're heard, your goals are centered, and the plan we build together reflects both your needs and your strengths. My path to becoming a PMHNP began with an innate ability to see patients holistically, as full human beings whose mental health is inseparable from every other part of their lives. This became a calling for me, fueled by the desire to bridge mental health care gaps and build meaningful long-term patient relationships. That same commitment comes with me into every appointment, allowing me to be a supportive psychiatric clinician who sees you fully and invests in your care. Exploring somewhere new, getting absorbed in a good book, and working through a strength training session are my favorite free-time activities, helping me find balance and energy.

We are trying to reintegrate in our own way, and it is not easy. Taking good care of our emotional well being is a priority in my eyes. Are you motivated to change and grow? If you need the best person to help you reach your goals? I practice what I preach. “See me”and “hear me”. “Make it safe”. Often this is the beginning of what is missing in relationships. It's hard to ask for help. Being in a relationship is tricky. I appreciate people who are brave to say: "I need help with my life.", "I want to change my life.", & "I am unhappy.". I can help transform your hopes into action. You CAN change your life....if you have the will and desire to do so.

Therapy is a place to talk to someone outside of your every day life. It's a place to gain insight into what is going on within yourself, and to learn more about your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. You may begin therapy due to a serious life event, or simply to improve your mood, your lifestyle, or your relationships. I will ask questions and offer feedback to help you look at your problems differently, to make more sense of what's going on in your life, and to unravel difficult issues. We will work together as you decide what changes you may want to begin to make. In addition to working with individuals, I also work with couples. Some couples are early in their relationships and want to make sure they are on the right track. Others have been together longer and want less distressing and hurtful interactions, and instead want positive ways of communicating and connecting with each other. As we work in couples therapy, you will better understand what each person is contributing to the relationship, and you will both learn new skills so that you can better manage your differences, resolve conflicts, and build a stronger and more satisfying relationship. I also offer a 3 hour, premarital/early relationship course. Couples may choose to do this to assess their relationship strengths, and to get learn areas of their relationship that can use some focused work. This course is very helpful to help couples to prevent and change negative patterns from developing, and to learn some very important relationship building skills.
You may be overwhelmed by life’s pressures and need help figuring out what’s really going on. Or you may feel stuck in unhealthy patterns, addictions, interpersonal conflicts, or cycles of anger and frustration, and not know how to change. You may be depressed, carrying psychic anguish and low motivation, or unable to move on from past trauma. Or you may feel moments of intense shame, rejection sensitivity, or self-consciousness, and want to finally talk about it and try to heal and move on. If you want to get to the bottom of your emotional distress, interpersonal difficulties, or sense of stuckness, I would love to work with you. Many people come to me after feeling frustrated with therapy that stayed too surface-level, or where the therapist mostly listened without helping them understand their inner world. If you’re looking for therapy that goes deeper and offers reflection, feedback, and guidance, I invite you to reach out and schedule an initial consultation or first session. I approach each therapy as unique and individual, so that I can tailor my approach to you. Healing is rarely a straight path, and having the right support can make all the difference. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, my work centers on helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or struggling to put your feelings into words, you don't have to figure it out alone. For younger patients, those challenges often show up through behavior or difficulty managing emotions, and that's where play therapy can be a powerful tool for expression and growth. For patients of all ages, the goal is the same: to help you better understand yourself, build healthier coping skills, and improve how you feel day to day and in your relationships. My commitment is to meet you exactly where you are. As a supportive and collaborative partner in your healing journey, I look forward to helping you or your child build resilience, gain insight, and create positive, lasting change. Compassionate, collaborative, and goal-oriented care is at the heart of every session. Creating a space where you feel genuinely safe, heard, and free from judgment is something I'm deeply passionate about, because real growth starts when you feel truly supported. Sessions are shaped by your unique needs, experiences, and goals. Using evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and play therapy techniques, we'll work together to process emotions, develop effective coping strategies, and foster lasting well-being. My style is warm and engaging, and each session is thoughtfully tailored to honor the developmental and emotional needs of every person I work with. My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by a deep and genuine desire to help others feel understood and supported during some of life's most difficult moments. Through clinical work with children and individuals navigating trauma, that commitment has only grown stronger. Every session, I bring empathy, patience, and authenticity into the room. These qualities aren't just professional values; they're the foundation of the meaningful therapeutic connections I strive to build with each person I have the privilege of working with. When I’m not working, I value time with family and friends. I also enjoy music, traveling, and being in nature, as these experiences help me recharge and bring balance to my life.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. My work is grounded in a humanistic perspective and informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and the patterns that shape your life. I work with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, family conflict, life transitions, and low self-esteem. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed by the expectations they place on themselves, struggle to set healthy boundaries, or find themselves stuck in relationship patterns that leave them feeling emotionally drained. My goal is to help you discover your strengths, develop effective strategies, and take real steps toward a happier, healthier version of yourself. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely heard and accepted. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs and goals. Drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), humanistic therapy, and strengths-based approaches, we’ll work together to better understand your emotions, build healthier relationships, strengthen self-confidence, and develop practical tools to help you navigate everyday challenges. Whether you’re processing difficult experiences, working through anxiety, improving communication, or simply trying to reconnect with yourself, my goal is to help you feel supported every step of the way. My passion for therapy grew from my own experiences navigating relationships, personal growth, and the unique challenges of growing up as a first-generation American. Those experiences taught me how important it is to feel understood and supported, especially during life’s most difficult moments. They continue to shape the empathy and curiosity I bring into each session. I believe therapy is about creating a space where you can better understand yourself, build on your strengths, and make changes that feel authentic and lasting. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy staying active through weightlifting, having previously trained in powerlifting. I also enjoy crocheting and making handmade items like beanies, scarves, and clothing, which gives me a creative outlet and helps me recharge. When I’m not crafting or at the gym, you’ll often find me at live music events, especially rock concerts and Spanish alternative shows.
