As a licensed clinical psychologist, I take a collaborative and integrative approach, working with you to explore life transitions, relationship dynamics, and attachment patterns while building tools to support daily functioning. College can be an exciting but challenging time filled with new pressures, uncertainty, and transitions. Many students face anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or questions about their future that can feel overwhelming. Balancing academics, social life, and personal growth often feels like a heavy load to carry alone. I’m here to support you through these challenges with a holistic, whole-person approach that considers your mind, body, and overall well-being. Using evidence-based practices like CBT and Reality Therapy, we’ll work together to identify stressors, develop practical coping strategies, and build resilience. My goal is to provide a compassionate, supportive space where you can explore your experiences honestly and create meaningful, lasting change tailored to your unique college journey. Whether you’re managing stress, navigating life transitions, or seeking clarity and balance, I’m here to walk alongside you as you thrive during this important chapter of your life.
The clients I see are sometimes in college experiencing feelings of overwhelm or feeling low. These clients describe their challenges as feeling, “como con miedo,” and also, “no se que tengo.” Other clients I see are future counselors who are at the beginning of their careers and facing imposter syndrome ( “I must’ve slipped through the cracks to get to where I am now”), self-criticism (“Why can’t I get my life together!"), or burnout (feeling fatigued and like you can never catch up). These clients are usually part of activist movements or workplaces and I believe in helping the healers that are out in the world making a positive impact on society. I benefited greatly from my own experiences with counseling when I was in grad school (still do) and I hope to provide the same non-judgmental opportunities to cry or laugh or both to future clients. In my work I value humility, curiosity, self-compassion and humor. I believe these are needed to provide authenticity and support at a time when people starting out in their fields of work are taking in new information that is stretching/challenging perspectives and care for the self is a necessity to continue doing challenging work.

By creating a safe, non-judgmental space, I aim to help clients understand themselves better, uncover their own capacity to heal from pain, and ultimately find more meaning, authenticity, and joy in their life. I am experienced in helping adults and adolescents to recover from traumatic events and manage Anxiety. My approach emphasizes the mind body connection utilizing CBT, Mindfulness, and Somatic Awareness. I am certified in EMDR, a research based treatment for PTSD. I help with anxiety and turbulence in the middle of big transitions and times of uncertainty in your life.
We are not biologically wired to cope with life alone. Even if we are not "alone" sometimes the ones we love lack the ability to fully support or understand us. Even if they may be a solid part of our support system. This is where therapy comes in. I specialize in guiding individuals through the intricate terrain of strong emotions. I have completed extensive training and research on healing strategies targeted for those trying to heal from adverse life experiences, trauma, ptsd, c-ptsd (attatchment/early childhood wounds) anxiety, depression, anger, and borderline personality disorder. **Treatment Modalities:** I am trained in EMDR, designed to reduce emotional distress due to traumatic life experiences. I also have special training in its use for helping those with borderline personality disorder and early childhood wounds, and anxiety-related issues. EMDR is considered a first-line treatment for trauma and has been shown to reduce emotional distress and accelerate the healing process. In addition, I use cognitive processing therapy (CPT), which has similar aims through different treatment techniques. Somatic (mind-body) techniques are also incorporated throughout the treatment process. We can talk about what will be the best fit for you. I also incorporate dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) skills for emotion regulation to tackle issues such as anxiety, depression, and anger. My clients will have take-home strategies that they can use outside of therapy. If you think we would be a good fit, I can be reached by call, text, or email.
