I provide individual therapy to people ages 18 and up. I specialize in working with queer and trans people, pot-stirrers, and outsiders. I enjoy working with people who are confronting major identity shifts, people who are navigating issues with their families of origin, and people who are trying to envision a future they never imagined themselves in (What is middle age? What is aging in queer spaces? How can I live meaningfully in late stage capitalism?).
Thank you for taking the time to read more about my practice! I started my career working in college counseling centers and continue to enjoy working with students for both therapy and assessment services. In my therapy practice, I use a number of mindfulness based strategies that help with depression, anxiety, performance, attention, and relationships. I also have my 200 hour yoga certification and strongly believe in the importance of mind-body wellness. My assessment practice focuses on ADHD and learning disability diagnoses. I am experienced in providing the needed documentation for students registering with their disability support offices and when taking exams such as the GRE, GMAT, and LSAT.

My clients experience relief as a result of our work addressing stress, challenging transitions, and general feelings of being stuck. I provide highly attuned, effective psychotherapy. I am psychoanalytically trained but integrate practical interventions to improve your daily functioning. The effectiveness of my work with clients has to do with the importance I place on connecting with them, making them feel seen and understood. The therapeutic alliance is everything. I’m a licensed psychologist and have worked with college-age young adults for many years. I have a youthful energy and I believe in being a good and supportive listener. I utilize evidence-based cognitive-behavioral and acceptance and commitment therapy interventions to help young adults create and apply effective action plans in their life. I’m not interested in helping young adults merely admire their problems, is this usually results in remaining stuck. Instead, I work collaboratively to identify promising interventions to move our life forward towards desired goals. This, I find, is the only way for a person to build genuine confidence.
Feeling stuck or struggling with relationships? I help students navigate the pressure of college while exploring racial/ethnic, sexual and gender identity, especially within the Latine/x TNG/LGBQ+, and neurodivergent communities. If you're tired of guessing why things feel hard, my assessments provide clear answers and paperwork you need for school accommodations. Whether you want to understand your patterns or get a roadmap for your brain, let's build a life that actually feels like you. See if we're a fit.

I can support students with major life transitions from adjusting to college to graduation and career planning. Substances have a way of putting us on a merry-go-round that will not stop. Substances help us regulate our mood, push out the uncomfortable, keep us walled off from our surroundings. Something happens in life, and we "want to stop", but do not know how to stop. And, we use again. If you are struggling with substances, unhappy with your life, tired of chasing the next high, ask for help. You can text or call me. Maybe it is time for you to rethink your relationship to substances.
QuIPP, the Queer Identities Psychology Partnership, is a group of mental health practitioners who specialize in working with marginalized groups...especially the LGBTQIA+ community. Our therapists are specialists in transgender mental health care, are poly- and kink-affirming, and are committed to continuing to educate ourselves on the ever-evolving needs of the queer and POC+queer communities. As such, we work with dissociative disorder, the full range of neurodiversity, and trauma (cultural, gender-based, and childhood).
My work focuses on adults who experience relationship difficulties (romantic, with family, or friends), anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, academic concerns, and trauma - especially from relationships, prior domestic violence, family, and prejudices (i.e. sizeism, classism, xenophobia, sexism, racism, homophobia, neurodiversity discrimination). I see individuals and couples virtually or in person within a culturally sensitive practice. We recognize the nuanced experiences of marginalized people including people of color, immigrants, 1st gen college students, women, neurodivergent, working class, and queer folks. I see people as shaped by life experiences, relationships, identities, family, culture, and society. Plus we're unique individuals! Our work will consider all of this. I like to collaborate with my clients and strive to be honest, patient, flexible, nonjudgmental, warm, humble, curious, empathic, and social justice minded. I'm a neurotypical, cis, het, biracial, Black Puerto Rican woman from a working class, urban neighborhood. My approach is decolonial, anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming, immigrant allied, feminist, & trauma-informed. I'm a psychodynamic, relational clinician also trained in CBT, ACT, self-compassion, MI, and attachment. I'm physically located in Rochester, NY.
